Abstract


This article is a bibliographic review work about laser superficial treatment and cladding processes, in aluminium alloys. These laser processes are superficial modification techniques that make possible obtaining suitable properties in the surface of components, while internal properties remain unaffected. The prior advantage of laser technology is the high speed in the heating and cooling processes. This causes the formation of phases out of equilibrium, with new microstructures. Reading the article, its clear that results obtained change, not only with the alloy used as substrate or with the adding material, also with the fabrication route of the base material. Parameters, which influence the process, are analysed and the characteristics obtained by different authors are compared, with the objective of grouping the most important information of this subject.
