The presence of small quantities of silicon at the outermost layers of the alloy promotes transport of chromium during the early stages of oxidation. Further, ion implantation seems to play a beneficial role against decarburization of the alloy.}, number={Extra}, journal={Revista de Metalurgia}, author={Otero, E. and Pérez, F. J. and Hierro, M.
