From that study the effect of alloying elements (Cu and Sn) in the corrosion, pitting and repassivation potentials were determined. The effect of copper and tin on the critical pitting temperature (CPT) was determined by icon-time-temperature curves. The influence of these alloying elements in FeCl3 under ASTM G48-00 norm was also studied. The addition of copper favours the nucleation of pits. The addition of tin slightly improves the corrosion resistance. The synergic effect of Cu-Sn was positive at low concentrations. ER -
