Factors influencing the durability of anticorrosive painting systems on steel in atmospheric exposures

The experimental results obtained with ten typical painting systems exposed during eight years in ten Spanish atmospheres are summarized. The effects of the type of atmosphere, characteristics of the paint systems (generic type and thickness), and steel surface preparation in the anticorrosive performance are analysed.
