Al-Cr-Zr alloys for high temperature applicationsAbstract
The literature on Al-Cr-Zr alloys for high temperature applications is revised. In addition to a short historical review and a description of the fundamental aspects of these aluminium-transition metal alloys, comments on processing methods, including rapid solidification and various consolidation techniques are considered. The strengthening mechanisms, mainly due to incoherent intermetallic particles, the thermal stability and the mechanical properties of the Al-Cr-Zr alloys, including creep behaviour, are thoroughly examined.
