Due to the similarity of the mixing and reaction times in the processes inside a steel converter, it is important to study the mixing times in the vessel. Owing to the high temperature, the direct determination is difficult, and mathematical models that approach the problem are very useful. In the present work, a simple mathematical model based on Networks of Zones that do not need too much mathematical apparatus for the solution of the mixing problem is proposed. Finally, the different behaviour of the mixing as a function of the additions charging method is analyzed.
