The production of NiAl coatings on steel can be achieved in a quick, cheap and unpolluted way. All this advantages are possible using concentrated solar energy (CSE) and selfpropagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS). SHS process allows the production of NiAl in short periods of using of the heat released in the reaction. Initial energy is provided by concentrated solar energy. The aim of this work is to improve the adherence between steel and coating. Two kinds of samples are examined: samples with Ni powder layer, and samples electroplated with nickel.
