In this work, a detailed description of an on-line control system for laser heat treatments based on pyrometric monitorization, is presented. The study includes full details concerning monitorization devices and comprehensive description of the control loop, based on a direct synthesis regulator. The system validation and exportable character of the proposed method are also discussed. Finally, results obtained for CO2 laser transformation hardening of F-114 steel are analyzed, including parametric analysis of control variables through metallurgical testing of the treated material.
