Recent advances in the description of dislocation dynamics are presented. Systems considered have realistic dislocation densities (i.e. densities close to those measured during the plastic deformation of single crystals: ρ ≡ 1012 m-2 ). The description is made through computer simulations in a bidimensional frame. Special emphasis will be made concerning the simplifications adopted, as well as the achievements.
