A new model is proposed which described the creep behaviour of metal matrix composites randomly reinforced by short fibers. The internal damage of the composite during creep due to fiber fragmentation is introduced by assigning a heuristic non-linear stress-strain relationship to the fiber. The macroscopic creep behaviour is simulated for composites deformed in shear for different fiber distribution.
